Tent day is an annual Homecoming tradition for the Hilltop and it was on Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The kings and queens competing for the crown included Haden and Emily, Arianna and Jonathan, Kelsey Kociban and Noah Seivertson, Ellie and Mason, and Carsie. The candidates set up tents on the quad and gave out West Liberty merchandise, snacks and other trinkets. Additionally, there were other tents, such as West Liberty Counseling Services, Campus Ministry, Student Life and Graduate Studies.
The kings and queens did their best to be as social and speak to everyone they could to try to make a good impression. The queens explained why they wanted to join the competition:
Caption: Emily is very West Lib-centric, starting off by saying she loves West Lib and “Go Toppers!”. Emily said, “We are doing it for fun, we are running because we love people, and we want to represent people.”
Arianna said, “I decided to run because I love being able to represent Alpha Xi Delta, and I love being involved on campus. I’m excited for the homecoming game!”
Kelsey Kociban and Noah Seivertson
Kociban said, “I’m running for Cia Omega and I love being able to represent everyone.”
Ellie and Mason
Ellie said, “I started running because I love to meet new people. I love being social and getting to meet everybody. I hope to keep meeting people and I love being active here on campus.”
Carsie
Carsie said, “This is a great opportunity to represent my sorority. It is really good to get involved on campus and put our names out there. It’s a lot of fun. I would not trade this opportunity for the world.”
