Finals week can be one of the most stressful weeks for college students. It is full of having to make sure all your assignments are completed and you are prepared for the final examination. Some students depend on getting a good grade on these finals to pass whatever class they are currently in. Having a few tips and tricks will help you be prepared when your final exams come around.
Unfortunately, many students are sleep deprived from those late nights of prepping. It is important for students to get just enough sleep at night. Oversleeping and undersleeping can be both problematic for students. Oversleeping can cause drowsiness and headaches. Undersleeping can make students irritated and unable to concentrate. It’s obviously extremely hard for a college student to maintain a healthy sleep schedule. There are many distractions that come along with being a college student; countless assignments, studying, and attempting to have a social life.
Another important factor is studying; everyone knows you need to study when it comes to finals week but, most students have a problem with not knowing how to actually study. Most students try studying for a huge exam the night of which is not an effective way of learning material. Students need to block off time for their studying by taking thirty minutes a day and studying. Therefore, it will allow your brain to retain information more effectively.
As well, make sure to meet with your professor if you have any questions about your upcoming exam. You are setting yourself up for failure if you do not understand the material and you do nothing about it. Most professors are happy to give you assistance with the class that you’re struggling with. Email your professors and set up an appointment and make sure you bring many questions with you as well. They will help you but they need to know what they are helping you with.
By using these tips, you will have a much better chance to pass your finals. Take your time and breath. You are much smarter than you give yourself credit for. Good luck everyone!
