WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The Student Government Association (SGA) on September 17th, will celebrate the induction of seven new Student Senators at a special dinner with President Tim Borchers, who continues to show activity in campus events, in the Student Leadership Center from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
This event has been brought back from last year, as the President has been very active with the SGA and the student body. Following the dinner, the regular SGA meeting will commence at 9:00 PM, where Borchers will provide updates for the semester, participate in a Q&A session, and oversee the official induction of the new senators.
This event introduces new student leaders and reaffirms the SGA’s commitment to fostering strong connections between students and the university administration. The evening promises to be informative and celebratory, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between students and the university’s leadership.
SGA President Jenna Maguire emphasized the importance of this event and what this event means for the SGA. “We are excited to be welcoming our seven new senators to the association,” said Maguire. “We can now have more diverse opinions and can make meaningful changes in terms of student success.”
Maguire explained that she and Vice President Audrie Shreve are excited about what’s coming for the SGA this year. “Audrie and I are really wanting to focus in on student success and all aspects of that,” said Maguire. “Like making sure we have the resources to do well in class, as well as being efficient in student government to make sure we focus on the goal of retention in the student body,”
Maguire is excited about this upcoming event for the SGA and hopes to see more student outreach for this event and many more to come.
The newly-elected Student Senators are as follows: Bre Boogart, Madison Sprigg, Grace Brockmeier, William (Baird) Mead, Abigail Templeton, Brooke Perri, and Ashley Cudnik.
