WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – On Wednesday, September 25th, Topper Thrift finally opened for the Fall 2024 semester with approximately 200 visitors and 70 sales on their first day.
The store is located on the first floor of Main Hall, where they recycle and upcycle clothing to sell. They’ve already upcycled 352 items
this semester to sell, and the goal by the end of the semester is 1,500.
Some events to look forward to include the Shibori collaboration between the Sewing Club, the International Office, and Topper Thrift on October 15th.
There will also be a mannequin contest that will start on September 30th, with entries closing on October 21st. Any customers that come to the store can put together an outfit for a mannequin. A picture of the outfit will be posted on Topper Thrift’s social media, and the post with the most likes will win a 15 item coupon for the store. The results will be announced on November 1st.
This semester, Topper Thrift is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from noon until 3 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
