WEST LIBERTY, WV – West Liberty University prepares for an unforgettable night with the Women’s and Men’s Wrestling teams. On October 18th, 6 pm, the ASRC will have three wrestling mats dominate the gym floor, setting the stage for a fierce talent showdown. But it isn’t until the first whistle blows that spectators realize what they’re truly in for—a night of raw athleticism as the men’s and women’s wrestling teams battle it out in the highly anticipated wrestle-offs.
With over 50 men’s matches scheduled, West Liberty’s 44 male wrestlers will take center stage, each fighting for their spot in the lineup. On the women’s side, 20 or more matches will showcase the power and prowess of the 16 female athletes, proving that they are just as fierce in competition. The gym is set to become a battleground, with each mat witnessing a different story of strategy, strength, and willpower.
The night isn’t over after the dust settles and the final takedown is made. The “Wrestle-Off Social” in the ASRC Boyle Room invites fans, students, and community members to unwind. Food, drinks, games, and the opportunity to meet with the athletes and coaches offer a laid-back chance to discuss the night’s action. It’s more than just wrestling; it’s a night of connection, celebration, and community.
Havoc is about to be unleashed on the hill, and it’s sure to be an evening no one will want to miss. So make sure to mark your calendars and be prepared for what’s to come on October 18th.
