WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – On Sunday, October 13th, 14 students took a trip to Pittsburgh to look at the Latin American Cultural Center’s exhibits. During the event, students were able to walk around the various exhibits to learn about various Latin American cultures and art including a new Haitian Exhibit that opened on September 17, 2024.
After walking around the various exhibits students were able to enjoy a wonderful dinner provided by Dr. Rojas, who organized the trip, which consisted of Empanadas and Chimichurri sauce (a combination of olive oil and various other spices). After eating, students got together to watch two short films that talked about the lives of Latin American women.
“It was very impactful to see women supporting women in Latin American culture, and I would recommend everyone goes to the LACC at least once.” Said Scales Smith, a student who attended the event.
Thank you to Dr. Felipe Rojas, Assistant Professor of Spanish, for planning this amazing trip and giving students the chance to learn about a culture different from their own.
