WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The West Liberty Men’s Golf team competed in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 21st and 22nd. A total of 23 teams were at the event. West Liberty was looking for a strong showing before they head into the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Tournament.
Senior Brogan Bennett took charge for the Hilltoppers. Bennett fired a three under par 69 in the second round. This allowed Bennett to take co-medalist honors. Bennett’s clutch performance also allowed for the Hilltoppers to finish third in the team standings with a two-day total of 597, which was just six strokes behind the team champions, Davis & Elkins.
The rest of the results for other Hilltoppers were Justin Doerr taking 9th, Noah Seivertson tied for 20th, Jayson Beckner at 157th, and finally Ethan Cook at 179th. The Hilltoppers will compete at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional on May 8th to May 10th.
