WEST LIBERTY, WV – The Grade Assistant for Intramurals this year is Haden Derrow. In an interview with Derrow, I asked him to bring me up to date on some of the intramural sports, mainly Flag Football, which will start every Monday on October 6th. 

Derrow tells us that the teams for Flag Football are a minimum of 7 people per team. There will be an ongoing bracket-style tournament throughout the league’s duration

. 

It will ultimately be up to the total amount of wins vs. losses, with them adjusting for championship games as needed.

Special rules of the league include playing only 50 yards and four downs to get a touchdown as opposed to a first down. Other than that, Derrow says it’s regular Flag Football. 

When asked about other Intramural sports that are going to happen, he said he is trying to get more student feedback about what sports the students want. He expressed interest in possibly doing bigger tournament-style brackets, but also still wanted to do the small item Intramurals like pickleball, ping pong, and volleyball. 

Darrow said this is his first semester as the Grade Assistant for Intramurals, so he intends to continue taking student feedback for possible future events.
