The winners of the recent WLU election for President and Vice President of Student Government are Reid Boden and David Cullinan. The two will be sworn in on Thursday April 28, 2016. Cullinan spoke about how he plans to make West Liberty better when he becomes SGA’s Vice-President.
“My goal is to reconnect with the students and to stand up for them to the administration. I also would like to reconnect the students (with) each other and not have them go home on the weekends,” said Cullinan.
The Student Government Association plays a large part in the events and administrative changes on campus. SGA is a middleman for the people in Shaw Hall and the student body. They handle funds and distribute them in an effort to create more student involvement and more efficient spending campus wide. Some student events that SGA is in charge of include Wet n’ Wild on the Quad, Serenades, and Homecoming.
If you would like to learn more about SGA or get involved, meetings are held every Tuesday at 9 p.m. in the Alumni Room. You may also stop by the SGA office located on the second floor of the Student Union. For more information on SGA you may email them at [email protected] or contact them by phone at 304-336-8027.
