The almost weekly e-mails students used to receive about some random found or lost object have decreased. Instead of focusing solely on emails, campus police have started working with a much easier and more efficient new system. Starting this semester, WLU is using a new online lost and found system.
You can directly visit lostandfound.com/wlu or you can find the direct link under the info and resources menu on WLU’s website.
The WLU Police Department venue page is the first thing to appear when you click on the link. This page shows their address, phone number and e-mail.
If you scroll down, you will find more options. There is a research bar that you can use to look for lost or found objects among the WLU Police Department list of records.
On the right, there are two buttons, a green one to report a found item and a red one to report a lost item. Both will take you to different pages where you will be asked to fill in a form with all the necessary information: title, date, category and sub-category, colors, model, details about where you lost or found the object.
You have also the possibility to upload a picture of the item if you have one, which can be really helpful to find the lost object or the owner of a found one. Once you are done you will need to create an account using your email address.
The website provides also a list of all the lost and found items in the police departments that you can click on one of them to access to more details, without necessarily creating an account or logging in.
If you’ve found an item or lost something on campus, it’s now easier than ever to report or find it!
