Relay for Life is just around the corner, which means the sisters of Beta Rho Epsilon are hard at work planning their annual event. The walk is April 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. and will take place in the ASRC.
This year’s theme will be “Finding A Cure,” which means tables, games, décor, and prizes will be “Finding Dory” themed. The goal is to inspire those with cancer to “Just Keep Swimming!”
Beta Rho Epsilon has set out to do an annual relay event because it hits home with its chapter. Multiple members of the sorority have suffered from a cancer diagnosis as well as many immediate family members. This sparked a strong passion for fighting to find a cure within the sisterhood.
This year’s walk will have over fifteen vendors, fun games, WLU clubs and organizations, live entertainment, raffles, prizes, and much more! To register before the event for $10, visit this site. You may also register at the door for $20 the day of the event. Registration is open all day, so feel free to show up whenever!
Senior Mia Huck is Beta Rho’s contact for the event each year. She said, “The most rewarding part about having our Relay For Life event, not only for myself, but for the sorority is knowing that we have the largest philanthropy event at WL and that we are bringing such success and hope to the community around us.”
Huck and the rest of the sisterhood have set a goal of $8,000 for this year. In order to hit their goal, they need people to get involved! You can help by registering a team to walk, sponsoring a table at the event, or by spreading the word.
If you need more information regarding the event, or if you have any questions about getting involved, please contact Huck at at [email protected].
