As the beginning of the new school year draws closer, it is time to start getting ready to return to campus. Classes start at 8 a.m. on Aug. 27, but there is much more going on activity wise for students to keep in mind.

If you are living on campus, there are important dates to keep in mind. Freshman and transfers are able to move in on Friday, Aug. 24. Students living in specialty housing such as the apartments, cabins, or houses can move in on Saturday, Aug. 25.

Returning students living in residence halls can move in on Sunday, Aug. 26. Move in begins at 10 a.m. on all days.

Express check in began on Aug. 1, and students can fill out paperwork online before they move in to save time on move in day.

Topperfest will return this year. During the first two weeks of school, there are many activities students can attend. Some of the activities include:

Friday, August 24

• International Student Session in the Alumni Room from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Family picnic in the Marketplace from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• 3v3 Intramural pickup tournament at Beta from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dinner in the Marketplace from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Krise Building Meeting at 7 p.m.
• Curtis/Bonar Building Meeting at 7:15 p.m.
• Beta Building Meeting at 7:30 p.m.
• Boyd/Rogers Building Meeting at 7:45 p.m.
• Hughes Building Meeting at 8 p.m.
• Comedian in the Union Ballroom at 9 p.m.

Saturday, August 25

• New Student Assembly in College Hall at 10 a.m.
• Transfer Assembly in the Alumni Room at 10 a.m.
• Resident assistants available for campus tours at 11 a.m.
• Topper Wars on the Quad at 1:30 p.m.
• Build a Topper in the Union Ballroom at 6 p.m.
• Block Party at Curtis and Bonar at 9 p.m.

Sunday, August 26

• Movie on the Quad (or Union Ballroom) at 9 p.m.

Monday, August 27

• Coffee and lemonade in the Breezeway at 10 a.m.
• Karaoke in the Union Ballroom at 6 p.m.
• Team Trivia in the Union Ballroom at 8 p.m.
• Speed Meet at 10 p.m.

Tuesday, August 28

• Commuter Lounge Open House with travel mugs in S17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Chi Omega Slip n’ Slide Hockey on the Quad from 4 to 8 p.m.
• Panhellenic Sorority Informational in the Alumni Room at 6 p.m.
• Ice Cream Social in the Chapel  at 6:30 p.m.
• BINGO in the Union Ballroom at 8 p.m.

• Theatre Meet and Greet in the Kelly Theater from 6-8 p.m.
