New campus dining option impresses patrons

Students returning to campus this fall were greeted with a new dining option in the Union: WOW Cafe

Featuring a wide range of options for both breakfast and lunch, WOW Cafe has been attracting large numbers since the beginning of the semester. The long lunch lines don’t lie: WOW Cafe is a hit. Their signature feature is the wings, both traditional boneless, along with their ten “made from scratch sauces,” my favorite being the Santa Fe chipotle.
However, my overall favorite menu item so far has been the wraps. WOW Cafe has five wrap options, one of them being vegetarian. The Memphis wrap was a hit for me with grilled chicken, lettuce, cheese, honey mustard coleslaw (also available a side item), and their signature Kansas City honey BBQ sauce. The wrap was large and filling, and all of the ingredients were tasty. For $7.29 you can make it a meal and choose one of the delicious side options. The mac and cheese and sweet fries have been my favorites so far.
WOW Cafe also offers eight main breakfast items along with five side options. The superior breakfast item, in my opinion, has been the chicken biscuit. WOW Cafe does the crispy chicken right; it’s seasoned well, juicy, and perfectly portioned on a buttery biscuit. It’s a great quick breakfast bite in between classes.
If you haven’t tried WOW Cafe yet, I highly recommend that you do. Get there early, though, as the lines can get quite lengthy. You don’t have to worry about waiting too long, however, because in my experience the service has been speedy even during the lunch rush hour.
WOW also has implemented a restaurant-style pager system that buzzes when your order is ready  which is much more efficient than the name-calling that was done previously. So, stop by the Union and give WOW Cafe a try. You won’t regret it!
WOW Cafe is open Monday – Friday from 8-10:30 a.m for breakfast and reopens from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. for lunch and dinner. Hours on Friday are from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m and on Sunday from 4-10 p.m. WOW Cafe is closed on Saturday.
