During the fall 2018 semester, West Liberty University has had an tremendous increase in enrollment. West Liberty University reports an enrollment increase of 3.2 percent this fall, with a total of 2,525 students.
This is the fourth semester in a row that enrollment has gone up.
“West Liberty University is proud of this increase, especially in an era when the number of high school students is dwindling and the job market is strong. I am grateful for the work of our admissions office and every employee that plays a part in our success,” President Dr. Stephen Greiner said.
Breaking the increase down further, the number reflects an increase of 12 percent in graduate students, or 303 new students pursuing advanced degrees, and a 3.5 percent increase in transfer students.
There are six percent more students living in campus housing. Also, early entrance students (high school students) taking classes jumped ahead by 35 percent.
These achievements have not only benefited the students who attend classes at West Liberty University, but it has also benefited the university as a whole, too.
“This is a real team effort and a result of our listening to our students, improving our on-campus residences, and developing new programs,” said Vice President of Student Services and Registrar Scott Cook.
Greiner and Cook both seemed to have great things to say about the recent achievement of the enrollment increase at West Liberty University.
Overall, the enrollment has probably increased because West Liberty University has worked toward providing an affordable college education for all of the students that attend classes.
“We will continue to work hard on keeping the cost of education reasonable. As an example, on-campus housing rates haven’t increased in two years. Scholarships too have increased for eligible students,” said Greiner.
Because of these achievements, West Liberty University has strived over the years to make a college education both affordable and attainable for all students that attend classes here.
