West Liberty University students often say, “There is nothing to do up here!” If you walk around campus you will see fliers posted in all buildings of activities happening in the future. One of those events are intramurals. The idea for intramural sports is that there is something for everyone, so get involved!
Intramural events are held every month until the semester is over. According to westliberty.edu/intramurals, “The intramural program is one of the most appreciated traditions at West Liberty University.” All current students, faculty, and staff are eligible to play in the scheduled events. Some sports have multiple leagues where there are men’s, women’s, and coed teams.
For Spring 2019, the scheduled intramural events are dodgeball, soccer, basketball, floor hockey, racquetball, and ultimate frisbee. Caleb Moore, sophomore at West Liberty, is very active in intramurals. “Along with playing golf, I play in intramurals from time to time. My favorite event is basketball because I can play with my buddies in a competitive fun atmosphere.” Moore also says all students should get involved in at least one event.
To register for intramurals you can do so online or using physical forms. You can register as a team or list yourself as a free agent where you will then be placed with a team.
Additional events will be added and announced throughout the semester. For additional questions contact Kate Billings, the Director of Student Activities, or email any questions to [email protected].
