West Liberty University is now accepting entries for its annual RECAP competition. RECAP, which stands for REsearch, Creative Activity, and Performance, will be held this spring on March 20.
According to the RECAP webpage, “RECAP is an annual Symposium and Competition for students of West Liberty University with the goal of recognizing and rewarding outstanding achievement in scholarly Research, Creative Activity, and Performance.”
Faculty members are proud of the scholarly works that get highlighted at RECAP each year and urge students to enter the competition. “The purpose of RECAP is to highlight all the positive academic activities West Liberty students are involved in across campus,” said Dr. Robert Kreisberg, Chair of the RECAP Committee.
The guidelines for submitting academic works into RECAP are pretty broad, allowing all West Liberty students to be eligible. Kreisberg said, “Both graduate and undergraduate students can submit papers, posters, creative works and performances/presentations. Students from across all disciplines are encouraged to participate in RECAP.”
Disciplines eligible for RECAP are: Business, Communications, Creative Performance, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Visual Communications.
RECAP will be handing out approximately $3,000 worth of awards this year. Submissions will be voted upon by 14 committee members from different disciplines across campus.
Scoring rubrics for each RECAP category as well as the rules and guidelines for submitting to RECAP can be found on the RECAP webpage of the West Liberty University website. The deadline to submit work for RECAP is Feb. 20 at 5 p.m., one month before the competition begins.
Submissions can be uploaded to the RECAP webpage, westliberty.edu/recap/. For any questions regarding RECAP, contact Dr. Robert Kreisberg at [email protected].
