Dr. Cecilia Salomone is an assistant professor of communications in the Department of Media and Visual Arts and serves as the faculty advisor to the Trumpet. She received her PhD in Mass Communications from the Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University, her MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her BA in English literature from Denison University. Her research interests focus on representations of the Appalachian region and rural American communities in mass media, including in journalism and popular culture.
