Dr. Danielle Mehlman-Brightwell serves as the director of The Trumpet and is an assistant professor of communication in the department of media and visual arts. She has a B.A. in English and Professional Communication from Wheeling Jesuit University, a Master’s in Education from Muskingum, and an M.A. in English: Professional Writing and Rhetoric from Bowling Green State. Mehlman-Brightwell also has a Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Communications Media and Instructional Technology. She serves as co-executive producer for “Newsline 14” on Topper Station and academic liaison to Topper Station. Her research interests span both mass communication and political communication by studying the effects of mass media on citizens' communicative activity. She enjoys running, kickboxing and kayaking.
