Many are in shock and dismay over the death of Joan Rivers. Rivers was a very well-known comedian and the first of her kind.

Her life was cut short due to problems occurring during a vocal chord surgery at an endoscopy clinic. She was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital located in NYC.

Her family, friends, fellow celebrities, and fans are in shock over her sudden death.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers,” said Melissa Rivers. “She passed peacefully at 1:17 pm surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.”

Though Joan River’s life is no more that does not mean her accomplishments and personality will not be remembered.

Rivers began as a comedian and later became a fashion critic and icon.

Most would describe Joan as loving and hilarious, as well as being outrageously upfront about her opinions.

“It is almost impossible to describe how much I adore Joan and how much she has meant to me,” said coworker Giuliana Rancic of E! News. “She was not only the funniest woman I have ever met, but was incredibly loving, honest, and lived her life with no regrets,” Rancic continued.

Though Joan Rivers is no longer with us, we can always look back on her moments of honesty, love, and hilarity.

She was one woman who knew how to not let life get her down and she did so by giving everyone including herself a good laugh.

The world is better because of your presence. As usual, Joan will be getting the last word, just as she should.
