The Protestant Campus Ministry, the WLU International Office and Student Life, held an event on Nov. 16 at 6 titled “Giving Thanks Dinner”. This event was free for students to come together and unwind before break. Tables were full with smiling faces along with the dishes of past plates.
Guest members got to color turkeys while drinking hot apple cider and enjoying everyone’s company. Briston Ramby mentioned that her family gets together and brings a covered dish for Thanksgiving dinner. One rule around her house is praying before feasting. Her favorite dish to enjoy at Thanksgiving dinner is Sweet Potato Casserole.
Additionally, she commented on what she was thankful for this Thanksgiving season,“I am very thankful for this life.”
Students who attended this dinner had an opportunity to try different dishes from different countries along with some desserts. WLU student Abigail Farnsworth tried the desserts and she said that her all time favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing.
Furthermore, Abigail commented that she was thankful for her friends, family, and most importantly campus ministry director Diann Nickerson.
All in all, students had a great time enjoying each other’s company, sharing a meal together and reflecting on what they are thankful for.
