“The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” Preview

After dealing with a major set back due to renovations in the Kelly Theatre, The Hilltop Players are ready to open the 2014-2015 theater season with the dramatic comedy “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot”.

“The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” is a 2005 play by Stephen Adly Guirgis; which first staged off-Broadway and was directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The play reexamines the plight and fate of the New Testament’s most infamous and unexplained sinner, Judas Iscariot. The play uses a series of flashbacks to an imagined childhood, and lawyers who call for the testimonies of witnesses such as Mother Teresa, Caiaphas, Saint Monica, Sigmund Freud, and Satan.

The production stars Jedidiah Shook as Judas Iscariot and is directed by senior communications major, Jake Trifonoff. Casting also includes Alecandria Glotfelty, Brady Dunn, John Hennen, Maggie Dillonm, Chad Arthur, Geena Diomedi, Sara Reed, Alex Franke, Michael Morris, Doug Gouldsberry, Zoe Poindexter, and Brent Kimball.

The production opens Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7:30pm in Kelly Theatre. The play will run from November 13-15 and 20-22, and at 3pm on Sundays November 16 and 23. Due to language and adult subject matter, this show is not suitable for all audiences.
