As of April 8, The Black and Gold currently sits 11-13 after dropping their first doubleheader against U-Va. Wise and splitting the next two games with Concord University. This puts West Liberty 5-9 during conference play for the season.

As of April 8, Glenville ranks dead last in the South Division of MEC at 17-19. With a 3-9 road record, the Lady Pioneers of Glenville State will have their work cut out for them this weekend. Last season saw the two teams split a pair of games.
Glenville State sophomore, Hannah Wright, has been lights out with her 38-percent batting percentage. As of April 8, Wright leads Glenville State with four home runs and is tied for third for the most number of runs this season at 16.
Glenville State softball finished the 2017 season 13-36. With 17 victories, as of April 8, already posted for the season, the Lady Pioneers can improve on their record with two wins Saturday.
Heading into Sunday, West Liberty will face W.Va. Wesleyan, the No. 1 team in the MEC. As of April 8, the Lady Bobcats of Wesleyan are 22-9 with a 15-3 record in conference play. One of their losses came against the University of Charleston last weekend when the Lady Bobcats dropped the second game of their doubleheader 4-8.

The Lady Bobcats finished last season 51-10, advancing all the way to the NCAA Division II World Series. It’s looking like another successful season for Wesleyan as the Lady Bobcats wrap up the last few games of the season.
